The new public realm improvements are expected to propel significant new investment in, and the eventual transformation of the Vaux site, bringing a much needed economic boost to the city. The Vaux site will be overseen by Siglion, the new Asset and Property company established through a three way partnership to oversee the £100 million investment portfolio of land and buildings in the city. The Vaux site is a core component of that investment portfolio and the BID hopes it will bring more economically active people, spending more time and more money in the city centre.
Work started on the Vaux Site on the 13th of December. The main focus of the £20m construction of phase one is a 60,000sq ft office building. It’s planned that Vaux site will also be used as a venue for events and activities that will attract more people into the city centre. Retail, residential, leisure and office facilities are also included in the Vaux site development plan.
