FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE SHOPAPPY SCHEME
SUNDERLAND businesses can now find out more about a digital high street scheme, set up to help them find more customers.
Sunderland BID, working with Sunderland City Council, has enrolled the city on ShopAppy.com, a website created to help independent retailers display and sell their goods virtually.
ShopAppy.com has already been highly successful in towns and cities across the country, mainly down to the convenience it gives shoppers to buy from a number of outlets but have their items delivered from one provider. At the same time, it also offers participants the opportunity to showcase a service or even offer a class to a wider audience.
The platform has been widely praised for its role in helping to revive high streets, and now the hope is more Sunderland businesses will get on board. Initially, the scheme was launched to complement shopping in person on the high street but has come into its own because of the restrictions caused by Covid 19.
Sunderland businesses are being invited to join ShopAppy.com which will give anyone without a website the chance to have a digital presence and those with one an additional way to promote themselves.
Anyone wanting to find out more can do that through a number of free, online sessions which will run through February to April by booking at HERE.
Already a dozen local businesses are setting up shop on the platform and Sharon Appleby, Head of Business Operations at Sunderland BID, is hoping to encourage many more to join.
“ShopAppy.com has already proved to be a winning formula which is why we are bringing it to Sunderland,” said Sharon. “It’s a fantastic way for people to promote their businesses and showcase what they offer under a nationally recognised brand name. “We hope businesses which want to find out more will sign up for one of the many free sessions which will explain to them in detail how it works and how it can benefit them.”
