The hugely popular Plays In The Parks are returning to Sunderland, transforming the city’s beautiful parks and open spaces into epic stages throughout the summer.
Watch as the action takes place all around you, as our talented troupe of roving storytellers take you on an unforgettable journey through Roker Park
Following guidance from his advisers, Henry believes France
belongs to him and he should fight to reclaim it. He abandons
his old loyal friends for new charming but untrustworthy
acquaintances and at the same time tried to rally the troops.
A rip roaring performance, full of battles and music.
Your expedition will begin at the lower beach entrance (near the pods) and takes in a tour of the entire park, so be prepared to move around between scenes to see the whole thing. Accessible routes are provided if you need them (although you may miss certain parts) but remember the terrain in the parks may be uneven, feature steep hills, slopes and steps.
The expedition will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather conditions, so rain or shine, our storytellers will be out in force. Dress for the weather!
The Plays In The Parks are a free season of outdoor performances supported by kind donations from our audiences and Sunderland Libraries Service, Sunderland Council, The Barbour Foundation, the North Area Committee and the Cultural Spring
You don’t need to book to come along, but if you’re joining us, we’d really appreciate a recommended donation of £10 per person which goes straight to the people you see transforming the park in front of your very eyes.
Look out for our Expedition Guides wearing the orange uniforms at the start point and get ready for another unforgettable summer in Sunderland’s Parks.
