This year, Summer in the City gets off to a kick-start as Sunderland welcomes the FanZone back from 14 June – 15 July 2018.
Put on your football shirt and head into the city centre as you watch England take on the world, for what is set to be an exciting month-long schedule of FIFA World Cup Games.
Passionate supporters may remember the FanZone from 2016, when all eyes were glued to the giant screen set up at the bottom of Park Lane for the Euros tournament.
And this year, Sunderland BID are making sure the sporting atmosphere is back better than ever.
Eyes to the sky as all matches will be broadcast from a 20-foot screen on the side of a double decker bus, complete with an on-board bar and designated seating area, running 11am until late each day.
The plans don’t stop there! Fans will be excited to know that the bus will be travelling around Sunderland city centre visiting: Low Row, Park Lane and Sunniside Live weekend – giving you the chance to explore the different areas of the city.
From the moment the FanZone opens on 14 June you can enjoy a range of special drink offers, street food and entertainment programme – which is set to change throughout the month.
Don’t worry about missing any courtside, field or track action. The FanZone will also be showcasing the best of Wimbledon, Ascot and the Formula One on days when no matches are scheduled.
With firm support from the local bars and restaurants, the Summer FanZone is set to be THE place to be this Summer, where everyone can cheer on their favourite trams in a family friendly environment.
